French Assets Become Haven As Investors Flee Italy Storm

What a difference a year makes. Back in the winter of 2017, investors’ appetite for French bonds soured amid fears of seeing Marine Le Pen becoming president.

Now they’re taking refuge in the debt as the spotlight turns to Italy’s political storm.

Even French equities are back in fashion, with the CAC 40 benchmark outperforming European peers as well as the S&P 500 in 2018.
