Gold near 3-week highs, oil with a slight change

Oil near the lowest levels since April 2009, after oil exports from the US increased. West Texas Intermediate for the February delivery rose 11 cents or 0.2 percent to $ 48.76 a barrel, after yesterday the price rose by 72 cents. Brent for the February delivery rose 5 cents or 0.1% to $ 51.15 per barrel

Gold traded slightly below the 3-week highs amid lower fuel prices. Bullion for immediate delivery traded at $ 213.83 for 1 ounce, and in yesterday’s session for the first $ 211.41. For the February delivery gold added 0.2% to 1 223.60 US dollars, which is the highest price of 16 December.

Silver for immediate delivery marked price $ 16.56 an ounce after yesterday traded price of $ 16.53 per ounce. Spot platinum also rose by 0.4% to 1 223.63 US dollars an ounce and palladium added 0.2% to its value to $ 792.68 an ounce.
