President Donald Trump, a man who is overly aware of his achievements and place in US history, added to his records by becoming the first US president to be twice tried for impeachment, seven days before the end of his term. Just a week before leaving office, the chamber plans to charge him with several crimes and inciting an uprising in Capitol Hill.
The president’s behavior in the 13 months since the first impeachment has prompted the House of Democrats to do clearer and more decisive cases than the first time. The chamber met to discuss and vote on impeachment.
Part of the official impeachment document reads: “He threatened the integrity of the democratic system, interfered in the peaceful transition of power and threatened an equal branch of government. In doing so, he betrayed public confidence as president and openly harmed the American people. ”
Democrats have called on Vice President Mike Pence and the cabinet to begin a faster process to remove Trump through the 25th Amendment. Pence declined, arguing in a letter Tuesday to Parliament Speaker Nancy Pelosi that the move was not “in the best interests of our nation or in accordance with our constitution.” Pelosi opened a debate in parliament, saying the country could not risk leaving the president in power. “He must go.” He is a clear and present danger to the nation we all love. ”
