LIVE UPDATE: What to expect from the last Trump VS Biden debate

Three weeks after the debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, the candidates will meet again on Thursday for the president’s last chance to change the trajectory of the race before election day.
Republicans would like Trump to offer an affirmative vision for the country and contrast with Biden’s policies in order to address the few remaining unresolved voters. The debate is 12 days before the Nov. 3 election, and many Americans have already voted with early ballots. Opinion polls show that the president lags behind nationally or wins very little in the states where he outperformed four years ago.

The debate comes a day after Trump’s director of national intelligence, John Ratcliffe, and FBI chief Christopher Rai said Iranian and Russian operatives had hacked voter lists and used the information to manipulate the election. While Ratcliffe said Iran’s efforts were aimed at damaging Trump’s campaign, reports indicated that Iran’s efforts had focused on sending threatening emails to registered Democrats telling them to vote for Trump.

Trump’s advisers hope to get under Biden’s skin tonight and urged him not to interrupt him repeatedly as in the first debate. The president has indicated he intends to focus on Mr Biden’s son, Hunter, and his business dealings following an unsubstantiated New York Post report on the matter. But some councilors fear he will be out of control and will attack the younger Mr Biden in a way that will evoke sympathy for his family from voters and the public. Undoubtedly, the president is expected to take an emotional approach again and attack Biden as part of his debate strategy. On the other hand, Joe Biden works to defend his advantage by relying on arguments that define him as a better-prepared candidate who will lead the nation out of the pandemic and the accompanying economic consequences, and return civilization to the White House after Trump’s rule. . He and his team assume that they will be the target of attacks and ugly attacks and prepare for any situation.
