Maybe there is something to the “Sell in May” strategy after all

Perhaps there is really something in the “sell through May” investment strategy, at least when the markets are in a rising trend. The S&P 500 rose 17 percent this year, a level that is not always good for the next month if we judge the past. When profits ranged between 13% and 15% in April, the market was performing relatively well over the next 8 months, if not better.
