Stocks close the session off in red after another volatile day

Down registered a bottom at -960 points

Major US stock indexes closed the session in red. The Dow is about to record its worst month since 1930. The index sale was calming down in the last minutes of the session and the indexes were able to regain some of their positions before the close. The Dow was 960 points down but closed at -597.94 points. The other indices had a similar rebound from the bottom.

Nasdaq tried to close the plus, but gave up its small profit and finished at -0.27%.

Price action becomes extremely volatile. Indices are rising and falling with large movements, which indicates that the liquidity is not in the right conditions. Today, the NYSE is trading electronically, with the floor of the exchange closed to professionals and traders.
