Summer Fridays in FX aren’t as dull as you might think

Most traders probably assume nothing much happens on summer Fridays, but it turns out that’s not the case, at least for the foreign-exchange market. Looking at the volatility of the major pairs, these Fridays are actually more volatile than throughout the rest of the year. While this may prevent some three-day weekends, take heart: The study doesn’t necessarily show you need to stick around for Friday afternoons.
