Why boxing is the best sport to unload

At Rumble, a Manhattan fitness room that can go to a more harsh spot than SoulCycle, you will find yourself in front of a pretty pretentious hall entrance with emoji stickers and poster pop stars. Going inside, you will find yourself in a purple-lit training room. Instead of bilinguals, however, the hall is full of sacks hanging with heavy chains from the ceiling.

The Rumble Hall, launched in New York in 2016, has already expanded to Los Angeles and San Francisco, and last year the owners sold a small share of the luxury Equinox mega-gym. The locality has become a temple of instigating Rocky-style emotions rather than making you feel like a Victoria’s Secret boutique. Battle sport has evolved into something that every fitness trainer can experience.

“Famous people began to show that boxing does not have to be hard and hard.” – says Andy Stenzler, CEO of Rumble. “You do not have to strike one another to get an excellent workout.” Boxing may be an age-old sport, but in combination with inviting places and halls, instructors do not have to be “hooligans.”

Sworn athletes spend half of their training sessions striking boxing pear. In the other half they train for strength, using the weight of their body and dumbbells.

In Rumble, boxing gloves do not sweat: they are made of matter that kills bacteria. The pears, shaped like a drop, do not hurt your wrists, they are filled with water, much more forgiving than the sand. And the series – they are depicted on the walls of the studio, which can easily be followed by everyone in sync with the appropriate rhythmic music. The fear of striking you in the face is also gone. “We want to be fun, not threatening.” – says Stenzler.

Get out the combat elements and the boxing still remains a deadly body workout. “You are constantly moving”. – explains Chris Gagliardi, a certified instructor. “This is a challenge to your stamina, maximizing your muscles, strength, flexibility, body posture, brain, work on your strength, speed, balance, agility and coordination.” he adds.

“You are exhausted, dripping sweat from you and training so hard that you can not hold your hands up.” – adds Minna Ramos, Account Executive, who trains Rumble. “But you come out confident, inspired, that makes me personally keep going.”

People just want to hit something and boxing is a way to break this tension in a very healthy way.
