China’s economic picture is not rosy, ranging from regulatory pressures affecting a number of industries to the energy crisis, which continues to hurt the economy. Worse-than-expected GDP figures are contributing to pressure on the Chinese yuan, while a number of investors continue to reduce their exposure to financial instruments closely tied to the Chinese economy.
In economic news, investment banks, market makers and prime brokers may quote wider spreads, sudden movements, gaps and possible execution at a price different from the stated / the first possible market price. In the first few seconds, execution may be delayed due to the accumulation of orders well in excess of the banks’ ability to process.
