Teslla’s third-quarter earnings report that beat expectations. The electric car manufacturer reported $8.77 billion in revenue, compared to the Street’s estimate of $8.26 billion, while posting its fifth straight quarter of net profit. The company reiterated its guidance to achieve a record half-million vehicle deliveries by year’s end.
Тesla Inc. is keeping its eye on a 500,000 vehicle-delivery prize. To meet that figure — the electric-car maker’s worldwide target this year — it would have to deliver more than 181,000 units in the current quarter.
“While achieving this goal has become more difficult, delivering half a million vehicles in 2020 remains our target,” the company said in a statement. Reaching it will largely depend on increased production at its Shanghai factory and higher output of its Model Y, it said.
Forecasts are mixed, with estimates from different analysts varying in a wide range. The eventual fulfillment of the company’s goal will undoubtedly dispel most doubts and would boost the share price.
