Carl Icahn relies on energy stocks in 2016

The portfolio of Icahn has three major energy companies: CVR Energy (NYSE: CVI), Cheniere Energy (AMEX: LNG), and Chesapeake Energy (NYSE: CHK). Together they account for 17% of its assets.

If you want to play wide energy market in 2016, this could be a possibility if you buy shares that are clearly supported by the guru investor with a long history of building wealth.

CVR Energy. Icahn owns more than 71 million shares, or 82% of Sugar Land, Texas company. CVR’s refinery and producer of fertilizers and nitrogen. Over the past 12 months, the company generated $ 6.2 billion revenue, $ 170 million is net income and $ 2.25 dividend per share.

Cheniere Energy. Icahn owns 28,500,000 shares as just raised its share by more than 2500 percent – it now controls 12% of the shares. Cheniere is trading at $ 36.93. Another authoritative guru investor owns about 10% of the shares – Seth Klarman

Chesapeake Energy of Icahn has lost nearly a billion dollars from 2013 onwards, but he continues to add to its position, which some might one day consider as the biggest turnaround of all time in the energy industry.
