Which Stock from the “Magnificent Seven” is Breaking Upward at Year-End?

Jay Woods, Chief Market Strategist at Freedom Capital Markets, said on Monday that he is closely watching electric vehicle maker Tesla, which is set to finish the year with significant gains.

“Tesla quietly broke not just a one-year, but a five-year consolidation base,” Woods commented. “From a technical perspective, this stock is in a clear upward trend.” According to him, the breakout signals a shift in the long-term market structure and increased investor interest.

The company, led by Elon Musk, has risen about 22% since the beginning of 2025, placing it among only three of the so-called “Magnificent Seven” – along with Alphabet and Nvidia – that have outperformed the S&P 500 index over the year.

Woods adds that Elon Musk no longer heads the Government Performance Department in Washington, giving him more time and focus to manage Tesla. Another factor driving market optimism is the extremely high expectations following shareholder approval of a compensation package for Musk valued at around $1 trillion.

“I believe everything is set up for an exceptionally strong 2026 for him and the company,” Woods says. “The question is whether this upward streak can continue.”
