Trader’s Calendar for Today

In the European session, there is nothing significant on the agenda except for a few secondary economic releases. In the U.S. session, we will receive the final GDP data for Q4 and U.S. jobless claims. The GDP report is outdated information and the market will likely ignore it, so the focus will be on jobless claims.

14:30 – U.S. Jobless Claims

U.S. jobless claims remain one of the most important weekly economic releases, as they serve as a more up-to-date indicator of labor market conditions.

Initial claims continue to fluctuate within the 200K-260K range, which has been established since 2022, while continuing claims remain near cyclical highs.

This week, expectations are for 225K initial claims compared to the previous 223K, while continuing claims are forecasted at 1,888K compared to the previous 1,892K.
